common questions
The link expired — what do I do?
It's normal, not an error. Links on transferir.pt expire between 7 and 30 days depending on the plan — by design, to protect the sharing from remaining accessible indefinitely. Ask whoever sent it to send it again.
The upload failed midway.
If wifi drops mid-upload, the transfer pauses and resumes by itself when the network returns — you don't need to do anything. If you close the tab by accident, come back within 24 hours and you'll see a banner to resume (re-select the same files and we'll continue where we left off). If it happens consistently with the same file, check if it fits within your plan's limit at /pricing.
I forgot the password for a share I received.
We can't recover it — the password is stored hashed, never in plain text, and never passes through our systems. Ask whoever sent it to share the password via another channel (SMS, voice). If you set it yourself and lost it, delete the share from /dashboard and create a new one.
My account was suspended.
Suspensions happen when we detect abuse (spam, illegal content, attempts to bypass limits). To understand the specific reason and how to reactivate, write to suporte@transferir.pt — we review case by case.
I want to delete my account (GDPR).
Write to suporte@transferir.pt asking for deletion. We confirm within 30 days and delete the account, files and logs. If you'd like to export everything we have about you first, say so in the same email — we provide a JSON with all the information. Full policy at /privacidade.
I didn't receive the email notification.
Check your spam folder first — happens with newer domains. If it's not there, you may have hit unsubscribe in a previous email (once on the list, you stay there). Write to us asking to remove you if it was a mistake.
Can I revoke a link I already sent?
Yes. In /dashboard you'll find the share in the list — click delete. Files leave our European servers immediately and the link stops working — anyone with the link gets a 404 from the next click.
Does the recipient need an account to download?
No. Only the sender needs an account. The recipient clicks the link and downloads — no email, no password (unless you protected the share), no signup.
I think something's broken — there's no maintenance notice.
If the status indicator on this page shows problems, we know. If it shows all operational but something is failing in your experience, that's new info — write to suporte@transferir.pt with as much detail as you can (URL, approximate time, screenshot).
